The Muhimbili University of Health and Sciences Association (MUHAS) began as the dar es salaam School of Medicine in 1963. The school transformed into the Faculty of Medicine University of Dar es Salaam, 1968.
The faculty was merged with Muhimbili
building the Muhimbili Medical Center (MMC) in 1977. After joining Muhimbili hospital, Faculty of Medicine was upgraded in 1991 through Parliament Act. No. 9 of 1991 became the Constituent College of the University of Dar-es-Salaam
Muhimbili University of Health Sciences (MUHAS), Over the years MUHAS has made great success in terms of growing students admission and development of several new academic programs.
MUHAS was established in 2007 through Article 1 of The convention was incorporated in accordance with Universities Act No. 7 of 2005.
