The organisation Mission is to contribute to improving health through the development and evaluation of action against HIV and other health problems through conducting research, including clinical trials at international levels to enhance the capacity of conducting similar research in Tanzania and East Africa region and contribute to interpretation of research findings in Health policy
MITU’s vision is to become the world’s leading Center for research on the prevention and treatment of HIV, and research on other health problems and, in collaboration with local and international organizations, contribute to health improvement in the East African region.
MITU is currently collaborating with other international research partners to conduct a study of a group of 500 HIV-infected adults and 500 HIV-free adults. This five-year research program aims to understand the relationship between sleep, the activity of the autonomic nervous system and the 24-hour blood pressure difference in the group
