Tanganyika instant Coffee  public Limited  known as TANICA  was brought up under companies  Act (cap.212) on September  30, 1963 as limited liability Company.  

The plant began its production  of cofee powder in 1967, now Tanica is a state Owned company  since its inception until it was privatized in 20p4 by small scale cofee grower in kagera region by working together  with KCU as well as anavrella cooperative in Tanzania 

Smallholder farmers have partner organizations that develop coffee ales and organic coffee production through fair trade. Partner organizations are interested in that the investment of smallholder farmers in TANICA has been successful and that the company becomes an important tool for the improvement of the welfare of smallholder coffee farmers.

The mission of Tanganyika Instant Coffee Public Limited (TANICA PLC) is to use available resources, human and material in the production of pure instant coffee to meet domestic and overseas markets.
