Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) is the only Tanzanian Bureau of Standards, formerly according to the Law Code Number 3 of 1975, the law was amended by Law Code Number 2 of 2009.

It is a public organization under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. TBS introduced training programs for graduates from various academic backgrounds have exposure in terms of development and first hand daily work environment of the Office.
