Geita Gold Mine is located in the gold mines of Lake Victoria in northwestern Tanzania, just 85 km from the city of Mwanza and 20 km southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. POST: ATTENDANT 3 – Tool keeper

Purpose of the Role

The Attendants will be to keep and issues HME underground equipment band other items as will be instructed. The Attendants will be to do all work using correct work methods safe precautions given to each task.

Duties and responsibilities

• To adhere all safe good practices and procedures in the mining workshop
• Planning daily tools data control
• Condition of inspection for Damages or defects
• Report to supervisor in case of shortage of tools
• Keeping good house keeping standards
• Mantain and ensure good working standards
• Monitor all safety requirements relevant to job in hand

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Able to work under pressure
• Knowledge on safety, health and environmental issues
• Computer knowledge is aded advantage
• Good written and communication skills
• Secondary School certificate (CSEE) and (VETA) Trade Test Certificate Grade one or Certificate in Material Management.
• At least 3years working experience as tool keeper in underground environment or one to two years experience as fitter mechanics
